Random Thursday Post

Don’t adjust your calendars; today is Thursday, 10/4. I am posting to the blog a day early because I will be out of the office tomorrow and Monday.  Yes, I will have a four day weekend. But don’t worry, I’m not going to be celebrating the fact that Christopher Columbus got lost and landed on the shores of North America.

Important Dates
Friday, 10/5        Last day to drop a class without grade penalty, last day to change from A-F to P/F
Friday, 10/12      Fall Break, no classes
Friday, 10/19      Last day to apply for fall 2012 graduation to be included in the bulletin

Helpful Tools
It has been shown that when you take a breath, only 20% of that oxygen goes to your brain. You can increase the oxygen levels to your brain with exercise. This will also reduce the risk for other disorders while improving your long term memory.

Random
Around 8 million people tune in every week to watch Sesame Street which has aired in over 120 countries since it first came on the air, making it the most widely viewed children’s series in the world.

So you need to serve. Yes, you do. Personally, I think part of serving is being an active participant and exercising your right to vote.  There will not be any discussion on who to vote for – that is your call. However, you do need to exercise that right.

Is it a big deal?  Well, yes it is. Imagine you were not living here. Imagine you are from Brunei or the United Arab Emirates countries where both men and women have limited voting rights. Even worse; imagine being a woman in Saudi Arabia where you are not allowed to vote.

You have a Constitutional right to vote. So do it.
