Holiday Fun is Around the Corner

As the term comes to an end everyone begins to feel the pressure of deadlines. We each respond to this pressure in different ways. Instead of letting yourself reach a boiling point I want to ask that you remember to take time for yourself during this deadline driven time …. If you need to punch a gym bag – do it, if you need to talk to someone – make an appointment at Cook, if you need to run an extra mile – do it. Bottom line; you are more important than a number on a piece of paper.

As we wrap up the end of the term and head into the holiday MSE will be celebrating with our traditional MSE Department Holiday Celebration on Reading Day, Thursday, December 12 from 2-4 in Collegiate Square. Please bring a snack or dessert to share.

New this year, you can relax with Puppy Time during the Holiday Celebration.  While relaxing with friends & good food you can play with Winter, Bodie, Mushu, Patrick, and Lazareth from 1-5 in Collegiate Square.

Oh, I almost forgot. You have to come to the Holiday Celebration to marvel at the Crystal Tree.

Puppies, friends, food & and Crystal Tree …. We are taking on the holiday MSE Style!

December 6 – last day to apply for a withdrawal
December 6 – summer course request begins
December 11 – last day of classes
December 13-19 – Finals

Helpful Tools
After two weeks of sleeping fewer than six hours a night, students perform as poorly as someone who hasn’t slept in 48 hours. This is why students who stay up all night studying actually have lower average GPAs than those who get adequate rest:

Students who pull all nighters: 2.95 GPA
Students who don’t pull all nighters: 3:20 GPA
