Age of Reason

I think people come into the ‘age of reason’ at the very moment in your life when you look outside, see snow falling and decide to put on a winter coat instead of a wearing shorts with a light weight hoodie. It happens for most guys between the age of 19 and 21. As I have no experience raising daughters I cannot even fathom a guess; they are such different creatures!

My notion of ‘age of reason’ was recently debunked by “The Top 10 Ways We Still Act Like Teenagers.”

1. Sulking and pouting, mostly to get attention and sympathy.
2. Texting all the time.
3. Leaving dirty clothes on the floor.
4. Intentionally saying things to push other people's buttons.
5. Spending lots of time sleeping.
6. Eating all of the food in the fridge.
7. Talking about how unfair life is.
8. Slamming doors.
9. Obsessing about what we look like.
10. Asking for money all the time . . . only now you're asking your significant other instead of your parents. Or maybe your parents too.

I’m not suggesting we do all of these things; maybe one or two. As an adult we should know better. On the flip side … the first 40 years of childhood are the hardest.

It take 17 billion barrels of oil each year to make water bottles for the U.S. market. That’s enough oil to fuel 1.3 million cars for a year.
