The Count Down Is On

Just the other day I was talking with someone who indicated their project wasn’t due until November 28 and they had a month. But then we took a close look at the calendar … once we removed Thanksgiving week, there is only three working weeks for the project. This got me thinking – as of today there are only….

  • 28 days till Thanksgiving
  • 40 days till Reading Day
  • 54 days till Christmas
  • 60 days till 2013

Every year I ask the same thing – where has the year gone?

Helpful Tools
As I pointed out, the end of the term is quickly approaching. Every day it gets closer and closer and there isn’t anything we can do to stop it from coming! So, we have to prepare ourselves.  I will start to put shopping lists together and you will start to prep for the end of the term. While I have to do my list on my own, you have the The Student Success Center ready and waiting to help you.

They are offering a program called Making it Through the Final Stretch that is specifically designed to help you in these last 40 days. I strongly encourage everyone to check out. The program is offered on 11/13, 11/14 and 11/26.

Ut Prosim
I’ve given everyone a lot of information about ways to serve and how to give back; all good info. But just yesterday, something dawned on me when I learned that October was National Bully Prevention Month.

(I didn’t know that. Am even more upset to realize we need an entire month to remind us to stand up to bullies.)

Anyway, it dawned on me that perhaps we can serve by stopping bullies in their tracks. Take a minute and Facebook Amanda Todd. Look up her story; see what beautiful a girl she was. Tell me, better yet, think to yourself if you knew her, what would you have done for her. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation – what will you do? Will you serve the one who needs you?
